Kukátko to schools

is a project education methodics for school kids. Rehearsing and playing an original musical theatre performance and creating the scenery at school will allow children to enhance their social and technical skills, practice their knowledges and have fun.

Why do we do it?

Kukátko is aiming to create a tool for teachers in order to help them to find a link between play and fun at school and an efficient learning process. It consists in realizing an original musical theatre performance with children the rehearsing of which will enhance the development of children’s communication and social skills. The evolution of such a tool for teachers is a time demanding and an expensive matter. We need to pay education professionals who will help us to link our methodics to the existing national curriculums. That´s why we decided to ask for help through the “Hithit” crowdfunding platform.

What will the kids get from it?

  • A playful way of education full of fun which in plus will lead to a class musical theatre performance for schoolmates, other teachers and parents.
  • Practical and inspiring induction to how to communicate and cooperate, how to organize the space around and distribute team roles according to strongpoints of each other.
  • Interconnection of different domains´ knowledges and technical artistic skills development – scenery and costume creation, scenario and song rehearsing, story dramatization, presentation in  front of others, etc.
  • Performance for teachers, schoolmates and parents followed by a party – kids will perform what they have learned and they will be awarded for it – common discussion about the performance (combining a constructive criticism and an encouraging appreciation) and a class party with presents (having sweets, sharing the experience, presents, etc.).
  • A funny memory - video-pictures as a souvenir. 

What will the teachers get from it?

  • An education process diversification through an intriguing project linking practical knowledges and artistic technical skills, creativity, communication and class cooperation.
  • Motivation for kids and collaboration upon a musical theatre performance designed for schoolmates, teachers and parents.
  • Complete methodics – work sheets, scenery and costume templates, musical records and song books, scenario. The methodics will remain with the teacher and can be used for following years or as an inspiring method for her/his own practice.
  • Subjects for primary prevention of pathologic phenomenon within the class – the project is aimed at children’s practical communication and social skills.
  • A class presentation (video, pictures) – project outcomes for kids, teachers and parents.

What will the parents get from it?

  • A musical and theatre performance thanks to which the kids will show them what they have learned during the last weeks.
  • An experience instead of marks in the school.

How did it start?

When we attended our kids´ school performances we usually witnessed shows that we ourselves used to play when we had been children. As we work in the field of pedagogy and closely cooperate with music and theatre professionals, we thought of creating a tool for teachers that could help them to achieve an original fairy tale performance thanks to which the kids could actually learn many important things.

Who are we?

Martin Peřina is a musician, teacher and he´s a daddy as well. He teaches at a musical school where he used to be a deputy headmaster. He is dedicated to composing scenic music for theatre plays for adults and kids.

Pavel Dacko worked as a humanitarian field logistician for Doctors without borders. Nowadays he´s a freelancer.
