What do we do?

At the moment we are working in two refugee camps in Principovaci and Adasevci in Serbia, where 1200 people are currently placed. People spend many  insecure months in the camps and are waiting for their future destiny. We are trying to help them in this period. In the camps we look after the library, laundry, open-air cinema and leisure activities. We also organise lectures in foreign languages and we work together with the Serbian authorities to maintain  "peace and quiet" during the night.

What do we need the money for?

The volunteers live in a house in Sid and they have to travel with their own expenses to Serbia. They don't get paid for their work as well as the coordinators in the Czech Republic and the people who look after the web, PR and finances. Thanks to them we can raise money for the humanitarian aid from private donors and companies in CZ. All of this we can  be covered on our own expenses, but we need a person in the field, who will be for a long term in Serbia and will be able to manage our activities at the place. 

The money that will be raised, will be used to run our mission in Serbia. The expecnes include: the rent of the house, energy, water, petrol, hygiene, a full time job shared by two people. The raised money would cover all the expenses for two months.

How did it start?

The oganistation PLNU is dedicated to activities connected with helping the refugees. It was established in September 2015 by a unofficial group who coordinated Czech volunteers across Europe. The group participated in Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia and Greece by giving humanitarian aid. As our main duty, we were coordinating and informing fututre volunteers. Taking in mind that many devoted Czech volunteers travelled to the Balkans, the informal "Czech team" gained respect not only within he volunteering community, but also by the local authorities and professional humanitarian workers.

During the time we exist over 4000 people have travelled to the Balkans with us. In the Czech Republic we participated in many lectures and discussions about migration. We also shared our personal experience from the Balkans route. For our work we received the Alice Masyrková award for human rights.

What is our aim?

Our aim is to activly participate on solving the problems which occure with the arrival of migrants to Europe:

- improving the living standard of the refugees in the official refugee camp

-coorperation with the local instituions and help the local community the area that is affected by the refugee crisis

-  increasing the pulic awerness and direct experience of Czechs with migration
