Barberette - gender neutral barbershop goes to Prague

A barbershop that is opened to everyone? The first Barberette was opened 2012 in London. We are heading to Prague to spread the ethos of gender neutral barbershop further. Will you help us to finish the reconstruction of the old shop to brand new place?

Equality has been discussed on many different levels. Why do women still pay several times more for the same haircut as men do? Barber and hairdressing services still have many stereotypes to be broken. Barberette decided to change it. 

                                                                

 

Barbershop that opens its door to everyone?

Men or women, everyone pays the same price for treatment in Barberette Prague. The very first store was opened by Klára Váňová in London 2012. She has been finghting equal approach and pricing on media, international and most of all personal level. In 2017 Barberette is heading to Prague. Old shop in Žižkov has already been turned to unique barbershop, where everybody is welcomed and can feel  free to expres their personality. 

                        

I have short hair, I can I get a haircut, please.

"We are sorry, miss, this is a barbershop, we cut only a mens hair. Please go to a hairdressers."

"I and other women I have known, heard this so many times. I was desperately looking for a place where I can be who I am." recalls Klara.

                   

However, would you find the precise of the short cut with a razor finish in the hairdressing salons? Or the endless bartering that your haircut is a “men’s“ cut and therefore you should pay their price? Barberette does not turn back to anyone. We are a place where everyone feels good. The community of people we have created in Britain is fantastic and we want to bring the same to Prague.

                        

We want to create the best Barberette establishment in Prague. Come and join us!

"When I opened Barberette in London, I fulfilled my big dream. The dream lives to this day and a growing community of great people lives with it. The time has come to spread the idea further. I came back to the Czech Republic and I believe there is room for a place where everyone feel equal to get what they want,  leaving with a great haircut and being who they really are. "

Why do we need you?

Klara is proud to have it all financed herself. Independence is a great value for her. Barberette Prague is already open and costly reconstruction was self funded. But the money stopped there.

With purchasing one of our rewards, you can help create a fantastic community waiting room and help refine the interior or for training new staff who will take care of you.

    Barberette transformed the old premises in Žižkov into a great barbershop from money she saved.

    Only thing is  missing, a community waiting room, where customers can comfortably rest and interact, while waiting for our service. 

    We are looking for an ambassador, who show proudly their love for our ethos towards equality by sponsoring the waiting area. Your name will appear on the label on the waiting room, which will designed to compliment the Barberette feel and
