How It All Began
Highland Games – in Moravia? Absolutely!!!
After 20 years of organizing Scottish events in Brno (mostly balls and ceilidhs), we decided in 2016 to bring the Highland Games to Brno – in the same spirited style as those held in the Scottish Highlands.
We successfully held four editions at Kraví Hora, and after an enforced "Covid pause", we’re now bringing the event back to life – this time at the Rugby Club Brno – Bystrc.

During the day, in a beautiful open-air setting, you’ll have a chance to try your hand at traditional heavy athletic disciplines under the guidance of the strongmen of the Kládaklan (sports club, Prague).
The competitions are open to the public, and we’ll also have a lighter version prepared especially for women and children.
For the kids, there will be plenty of attractions, games, and face painting too!
Your tastebuds and bellies will be looked after by "U Ferdy" restaurant, serving up food and drinks, including beer from the Albert Flying Brewery.
And after some heavy lifting, you deserve a reward – head over to the Brno Whisky Shop for something truly Scottish!

Scotch Dog – “Where’s Your Leash?”
Nope, "Skotský Pes" isn't a dog club 😄
The name comes from a Czech pun: pes (dog) and ples (ball) sound nearly the same – and our first event, way back in 2004, was a Scottish Ball. The name stuck.
Over the past 20 years, we’ve organized dozens of events in Brno for thousands of visitors.
We're still just a group of enthusiasts – but when we commit to something, we go all in to make it great.

Why Hithit?
We want to revive the beautiful tradition of annual Highland Games in Brno, especially after many of you asked when they’d return.
While a few similar events happen in the Czech Republic each year, not a single one takes place in Moravia!
We think it’s a shame the Moravian capital can't experience Scottish culture under the open sky.
Because we’re bringing the Games back after a long break, we need your support to make it happen – not just this year, but for years to come.
Some of the rewards are great value, others are simply a way to support the cause and get something fun in return – so don’t think of it all as just a “good deal.”
