How it started

People often ask me whether I have my solo record. Even though I recorded many albums, singles and videos with other musical projects (Hot Sisters, Original Vintage Orchestra, Mr. Elastik and others) I don’t have my own CD for my fans yet. And so, with my good friends and amazing musicians for support, I decided to record my debut album “My Favourite Things”. As the title suggests, this album will feature a selection of my favourite swing tunes. We might also visit a few other styles, too.

Details

Sophia Lamoš is a Czech, Austrian-born jazz singer. In 2010, she moved to Prague, where she soon entered the Czech music scene. One of her first achievements was her solo performance with Prague Film Orchestra in Prague’s Rudolfinum in 2012. Soon after that, she and her sister founded the swing group HOT SISTERS. This band published the album “Swing je můj king” (Swing is My King), the sisters sang and acted in the film Lída Baarová and now they collaborate with Petr Kroutil’s Original Vintage Orchestra. Her professional career also includes collaborations with foreign stars such as Lorenzo Thompson (Chicago) or Chuck Wansley (Los Angeles). After ten years of performing on the Czech jazz scene, Sophia would like to publish her first solo record entitled My Favourite Things, which will feature some of her most beloved tunes. Many renowned jazz musicians will be collaborating with her on this album.
