We aren't able to support our café and 24/7 study room just from the takeaway window. We have run out of our savings and the government compensations are not enough. That is why we ask for your help. We prepared a bunch of great rewards for you as well!

The pandemics hit us really hard because of the large space we have. Cafedu offers almost 500 m2 of space and about half of this space consists of a nonstop study room. Unfortunately, given the circumstances from last year it is impossible to maintain such a space just by selling through the take-away window. Our location is not ideal for a take-away window – Cafedu is not located in a lively residential area, there are not many people walking by during the pandemic. Thus we only generate about 10-15% of our usual sales. This is unfortunately not enough to cover even the remaining half of the rent we have to pay after receiving compensation from the government. We have to pay approximately 200 000 CZK/month just for the rent and basic utilities, and we spend about the same amount on wages, accountings, internet, cleaning fees, etc. Altogether, approximately 400 000 CZK/month.
And that is why we turn to you – the main goal of this campaign is to survive; month after month, milestone after milestone. Reaching the first milestone would give us sufficient financial support for about one month, the second then for another month. The third milestone would help us to refurbish and hopefully also build a small kitchen to expand our menu with signature snacks, brunches and treats that will give you even more energy for working and studying. Furthermore, the extended menu can help us generate more revenues from the take-away window which could make it easier for us to afford our rent. With the current pandemic situation it seems that we will probably need your support until late spring. We are extremely grateful for every contribution!
Cafedu is a cafe with a non-stop study room, which was established in the summer of 2014. The idea of Cafedu was to create a dream place for students and young freelancers; a common place full of energy and motivation where everyone can come and learn, create new projects and, in general, better themselves. A place which will support your personal growth with a selection of specialty coffee from local roasteries and cakes and other treats from local bakeries. All this to provide you with enough energy, but at the same time, offer relaxation as well. And our dream has come true – in the last 6 years we served more than 15 000 students, freelancers and numerous café guests.
In the spring, we still had some savings from previous years, which we planned to use for opening a new branch, for example in Brno, or for the reconstruction of our current space. These savings are now gone. In the past year we were able to open the cafe just for about 4 months and because of the regulations for most of the time we could only provide 50% of the capacity. Government’s chaotic, constantly changing and insufficient help is in our case only marginal.
What makes us different from other cafes is that we provide a really large space – 500 m2 for studying and working. All tables are equipped with electrical outlets, there is a professional and fast WiFi network, the study room is open nonstop, there is also a printer, where you can print all materials needed for your work and many more utilities designed to make your study or work easier. You can probably imagine that it is quite impossible for us to afford such a large space just by serving through the take-away window. After a year of balancing on the edge of sustainability, we are slowly getting beyond the tipping point. We do not want to give up on our dream and therefore we ask for your help.
We truly believe that:
…and we would love to continue doing so...
Many regular customers are medics – we are very grateful for them, especially now during these times, because together with experienced doctors they have done and still do an extreme amount of work in hospitals and other medical facilities. And we are very happy that we were able to make their studies at least a little more pleasant.
We are twins, Iva and Adam. We are not a part of corporate, we are not the “golden youth” and we are not experienced businessmen. We started when we were 25, a little naive but with a great amount of determination. We got a loan and rushed into the coffee and student scene. With just little experience and many lessons learned we managed to build the concept of Cafedu and we survived. And that is also thanks to our early baristas who gave Cafedu their hearts. Jakub, who is today our main barista and right hand and Sára, who was the only experienced barista at the beginning and who taught us a lot. There are many people without whose contributions we couldn’t have built this and we are so thankful for them.
In short, we are basically a projection of who you are – some young, some beautiful, some energetic and the majority of us combine all these three together :D. And we are here for you since day one.
You will help us the most if you purchase one of our rewards. It will be also extremely helpful if you share our story so more people in your social group can support us. If you like our project, let your friends and acquaintances know. You will help us to spread this campaign and keep the concept of Cafedu alive. We are beyond grateful for every share and support.
If you have any question do not hesitate to ask us here or at email@example.com. We will also be happy if you follow us on our social networks so you won’t miss any news:
We keep our fingers crossed for you and for us, so that we all get through this weird time and hopefully will be able to see each other soon!
Thank you very much for all your support and sharing.

We managed to complete 100% of the first milestone in less than one day, thanks to all of you. We really didn't expect that and thank you very much. Thanks to you, we are able to pay the rent and fees for February and March and that's just amazing. We are currently at 170% and our 2nd milestone,…More
