Věřili jste, že umění hory přenáší?

My ano – proto jsme do toho šli. Že má většina přispěvatelů ráda Pavla, to jsme si tak nějak mysleli. Ale že budou v takovém množství kupovat různé formy autorských děl, které „nemají pro současný umělecký svět žádný přínos“, nás všechny moc mile překvapilo: cílová částka byla překonána 28. června 2018, kdy zbývalo ještě 25 dní do konce sbírky. Tento obrázek nakreslil Pavel na oslavu úspěšného ukončení sbírky na výstavu, a svá jména by v něm měli najít všichni přispěvatelé. Příjmení tam nejsou, protože Pavel nerad píše a bylo by jich skoro sto sedmdesát.

Na začátku jsme slíbili, že výstavu uděláme každopádně. Díky vám všem přispěvatelům se nám to opravdu povedlo. Díky Radkovi jsme se mohli pokusit ji udělat zpracovanou na profesionální úrovni. A díky Claudii, Míše a Jirkovi jsme to vše zvládli levou zadní a s úsměvem na rtech. Jestli je ale ta výstava krásná, je už pouze na posouzení návštěvníků.

Did you believe that art conquers all?

We did – that’s why we went for it. We thought that most of the contributors loved Pavel. But that they would buy in such numbers the various forms of original works “which contain no real asset for the artistic world” (to quote one critic) was such a nice surprise for us all: the target amount was exceeded on 28 June 2018, when 25 days still remained before the campaign ended. This picture was drawn by Pavel to celebrate the successful completion of the fund-raising campaign for the exhibition, and all his contributors should find their names in it. There are no surnames because Pavel does not like to write and there would be nearly 170 of them.

At the beginning, we promised to do the exhibition come what may. Thanks to you, all the contributors,we really managed to do it. Thanks to Radek, we could try to do it professionally. And thanks to Claudia, Míša and Jirka, we managed to sail through it with a smile on our face. But whether the exhibition is beautiful, is only up to its visitors to judge.
