We have interviewed inspiring people who live and work in Sudetenland today. They are reconstructing monuments, saving cultural and natural heritage, running schools, preserving the landscape and bio-farming, organising cultural events etc. In the whole series, we present 51 active people and their admirable projects.

The upcoming book Mitten am Rande 04 contents an interview with director Jiří Havelka (VOSTO5), culture managers Matouš Bičák and Dominika Lewis (Prádelna), landscape architect Jan Makovička (Kraferrova zahrada), urbanists Barbora Ponešová and Jan Foretník (Chapel as the Path), farmer Stanislav Bíza (Lavandia), nature guide Veronika Králová (Doma v Podyjí), historian Lenka Kopřivová (Muzeum moravských Chorvatů), film producer Alica Sigmund Heráková (TUKE.TV), and cultural organizer Milan Kolář (Jihlavský havířský průvod).

Vol. 04 covers the area from Český Krumlov (German: Böhmish Krumau) to Brno (Brünn), including the former german-speaking language island around the city of Jihlava (German: Iglauer Sprachinsel). We have been working on the series since 2022. Every year, we publish one book. 

Although we managed to get various grants, we are still missing some money to complete the series. The costs include: interviews transcription and editing, translation (all the books are both in German and Czeck, you need to just flip the book and read in the other language), graphic design and typesetting, proofreading and printing.

Publishing has been an important part of our activites since the foundation in 1998. Our bestseller has become a book about history Das Verschwundene Sudetenland / Zmizelé Sudety [The Disappeared Sudetenland]. It has already been published in six editions and is still sold out. Also our other books focus on the critical reflection on history and the Sudetenland. In the recent series Mitten am Rande / Uprostřed na okraji [The Epicenters of the Periphery] we discover the present-day Sudetenland and the people living and working there.
