How it all started:


Bohemia JazzFest was founded by the famous jazz guitar player, Rudy Linka in 2006. Then, it took place in three cities and it was visited by about 17 000 people. Last year, in 2018, more than 100 000 people came to see it. By now, JazzFest has spread all across the Czech Republic.

Why HitHit?

This year is a little short of money, so we decided to go in a new way, with you on HitHit. We are still missing about two hundred thousand CZK (about 8,5 thousands EUR) to accordingly take care of the star jazz artists and to be able to get a proper transportation options for moving around the Czech Republic. We also want to find out how close our festival is to the fans and prove that we do belong to the town-squares in the Czech cities. All of our concerts are for free and open for literally everyone.

Tops of the Jazz

Thirteen years ago the festival introduced such musical legends as John Scofield Quartet, Yellow Jackets, Hiromi, Stanley Clarke Band, Charles Lloyd Quartet, Medesky, Martin and Wood, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many others. By combining beautiful architecture with modern music we got on pages of such publications as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Südeutsche Zeitung and we are also in the Michelin guide in the must-see section.

…getting all the way to you

Bohemia JazzFest is not about jazz exclusively, it is also blues, funky, and world music. This year of BJF is going to take place between July 8th and July 15th in Prague, Pilsen, Liberec, Domažlice, Tábor, and Brno. This year is starred by Tuck & Patti who are going to receive the Bohemia Jazz Award, Stefano Bollani, Ralph Towner, or Wolfgang Muthspiel. For the Czech interprets there is Lenka Dusilová, and others.


We believe that regarding jazz, we have been able to get the Czech and Moravian cities only the world’s best music there is in the world. Though, most of all we want to make that available for everyone, that’s what music is about. Connecting not only people who simply are regular jazz concert visitors but also those who are just passing by and get interested. We believe that you will help us make that happen. Thank you!
