Cannabis Sativa, also known as Hemp, is an amazing plant serving humankind for thousands of years. 

One would believe it cannot keep any secret after all this time, yet the opposite is true. This versatile plant is studied more and more by scientists and unending stream of new discoveries is completely staggering.

Two main groups of active substances can be found in Hemp – Cannabinoids and Terpenes. 

They can help us to keep the body functioning optimally including the body’s largest organ – it’s skin. These interesting substances are working together in Terpene Cosmetics. 

CBD is the main non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in various parts of the Hemp plant. OK, fine. Why on earth should we put it into cosmetics? Let us explain.

You have cannabinoids naturally occurring in your body! These are called endocannabinoids and they have many functions. Hemp cannabinoids (so-called phytocannabinoids) are molecules, which can bind to the same receptors in your body as your own endocannabinoids.

You don’t believe it? When you smoke weed you are high – it is because of THC is binding to the same brain receptors as anandamide, your inner happiness endocannabinoid. Cannabinoid receptors are almost everywhere in your body, including your skin! Really, you have endocannabinoid system in your skin. CBD helps it function optimally, especially in times of stress and dysfunction.

Terpenes are primary constituents of the essential oils of many types of plants and flowers. 

They are widely used as fragrances, in medicine and also in aromatherapy. They have various physiological functions – for example vitamin A is a terpene.

Terpenes occurring naturally in Hemp have exciting properties, which can be utilised in cosmetics, especially in synergy with CBD.

For example Caryophyllene – terpene with a spicy aroma, known to interact with endocannabinoid system of your body. It is also studied for antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Due to interaction with endocannabinoid system of your skin it acts in synergy with CBD to keep optimal moisture level in your skin.

When thinking about the best terpene formulation we have decided to look directly into nature. The nature itself was showing us the way. 

We have carefully analysed terpene profiles of different Cannabis strains and re-created them from natural sources, so the final product is legal all over the world while keeping all necessary molecules.

We have approached the development with opened mind and looked for other active ingredients which will act in synergy with CBD and terpenes. 

These extra active ingredients were implemented in final formulation of some products:

Tocopherol (also known as vitamin E) is a strong antioxidant, protecting cell membranes from oxidative damage. It has anti-aging effects (it moisturize the skin excellently, which helps to reduce wrinkles).

Coenzyme Q10, also known as Ubiquinone, is a fat-soluble substance resembling a vitamin. It acts as a super-antioxidant. Coenzyme Q10 is supporting skin elasticity and daily application prevents formation of wrinkles. Q10 has also additional function - it is regenerating vitamin E.

Hyaluronic Acid is one of main components of environment among cells. It can absorb thousand times more water than it weights. Since it is a big molecule it stays on the skin surface and continually hydrates the skin resulting in smooth and youthful look.

Our masterpiece. This anti-aging night cream is rich in active ingredients. It is acting both on the surface and deep in the skin. Anti-aging night cream intensively nourishes skin cells, rejuvenates them and reduces wrinkles. It has been designed to support your skin’s endocannabinoid system resulting in optimal skin moisture even in times of stress and dysfunction.

Nourishing body milk for soft and silky skin. This well-balanced combination of oil and water-based components absorbs quickly, leaving no feel of greasy skin. Water-based part brings actual moisture into the skin together with water-soluble active ingredients (as is hyaluronic acid). Oil part protects moisture from evaporation and brings oil-soluble active ingredients into the party (CBD and vitamin E). Body milk is easy to spread on skin and is ideal for application during the day, i.e. after you wash your hands.

Shower gel utilises aromatherapeutic benefits of terpenes with soothing effects of CBD. This pH-balanced shower gel leaves your skin smooth and radiant. Be careful, amazing fresh scents will make you want to stay under the shower!

We are in the phase where we have analysed terpene profiles of many strains and learned how to re-create them. We have developed cosmetic formulations and validated their effects. We have agreements with suppliers and manufacturers. We have spent 18 months to get this far and it is still not enough for industrial production.

We have calculated we need at least 810 000 CZK. We will not be able to overcome initial money barrier without you. We were able to put half of the money up front from our own pockets, but we still need additional 405 000 CZK. That's why we ask you, our backers, to help us make our vision possible.

We will be able to launch additional strains if we collect more.
