Can candle cause fire while burning?

We are executing burn tests of our candles since November 2020. According our testing, the coconut shells do not catch on fire during the period while candle is burned. You are still obligated to burn candles according the EU safety regulations and CLP label, that are part of our safety etiquette. Our safety regulations are the same as for any other candle sold on European market. Few of mentioned safety regulations for example are: do not burn candle unattended; do not burn candle close to flammable objects; do not burn candle at reach of children or pets. The complete instructions are available on our candle care card and CLP label as part of our packaging. 

Why coconut shells?

Coconuts are cultivated for coconut meat and coconut milk and coconut shells are considered waste. We see potential in this material and we decided to reuse it in form of our candles and tea light holders. The decision was based on the fact that we did not want to produce candles in one use glass or cement containers. The coconut can be cleaned after use and can be reused as a bowl or flowerpot. Burning a candle will not damage its appearance. We import coconuts from Vietnam by sea freight which is a greener option and takes over 4 months. We compensate the carbon footprint of the transport at our expense by planting trees.
