I need your help to finish the documentary film about forest fires in Bolivia. 5 millions of hectares were burned here this year, size of a small country. With your help, I can uncover the situation so we can all learn from it.

Zdravím Vás přátelé, čekám teď v Porto Velho na lodi, která mě vezme směrem na Manaus, tak je čas udělat krátkou rekapitulaci projektu. Namluvil jsem pro Vás video, ale nedaří se mi ho odsud poslat, tak to sepíšu.
Jak někteří z Vás vědí, zabývám se již nějakou dobu dokumentární tvorbou, začal jsem fotit během uprchlické krize v Řecku, pak jsem pracoval např. v Náhorním Karabachu, v Donbasu, v Bangladéši nebo poslední rok a Voxpotem v Afghánistánu. Amazonie mě zajímá už nějakou dobu nejen kvůli své situaci, ale i kvůli medicínám a kultuře místních lidí. Uvažoval jsem, že bych jsem vyrazil ještě než začaly požáry, a když to pak propuklo, bylo jasné, že pojedu.
Shodou okolností jsem v Praze potkal Bolivijakou režisérku a rozhodli jsme se spolupracovat. Věci nabraly rychlý spád a brzo jsem byl s hasiči uprostřed hořících lesů Chiquitanie, abych zachytil, co se v Bolivii děje. A teď pozor, velké přiznání, vlastně jsem netočil v Amazonii, protože Chiquitanský les je trochu odlišného rázu, vlhký amazonský deštný prales zde přechází v les suššího typu. Nicméně i spousta místních vám řekne, že to je součást Amazonie a mou iluzi rozptýlili nakonec až biologové, se kterými jsem mluvil teď ke konci. Než mě ale odsoudíte, dovolte se mi ospravedlnit, za prvé jsem skutečně měl zpočátku za to, že se nacházím na okraji Amazonie a za druhé toho nelituji, protože požáry v Chiquitanii byly nesmírné, ale téměř nikdo se jim nevěnoval. Veškerou pozornost zabrala Brazílie a situaci v Bolivii většinová média spíš opomíjela. Myslím tedy, že jsem skončil na správném místě. Pokud ale máte pocit, že jste podpořili špatný projekt, samozřejmě Vám Váš příspěvek vrátím.
A teď zpátky k natáčení, z Chiquitanie jsme se přesunuli na západ země do magického La Paz, kde se odehrávala prezidentská kampaň v plném proudu. Bývalý prezident si mimo jiné získával podporu rozdělováním půdy a příliv nových osadníků je jedním z důvodů, proč byly letošní požáry tak závažné. I proto si myslím, že by do dokumentu mělo být zahrnuta i místní politická situace, která pochopitelně do velké míry ovlivňuje nakládání s lesem. V La Paz jsme také za dramatických okolností rozešli s mou spolupracovnicí. Skončil jsem na policii a musel jsem smazat velkou část materiálu. Politika je holt citlivé téma, ale faktem je, že nám spolupráce moc neklapala od začátku. Nicméně v natáčení jsem dál pokračoval a vrátil jsem se zpátky do lesů, abych ukázal Chiquitanii jako takovou a dovysvětlil příčiny letošní katastrofy. Mám velmi dobré rozhovory se zástupci regionální vlády a neziskových organizací, které se tématu věnují, návrat do lesa byl ale trochu zklamáním. Místních lesních strážců je jen pár a mají velmi omezené prostředky, a tak jsme trochu pochodili po lese, ukázali mi místní ekosystém, ale žádná závratná akce se už nekonala. Nicméně akce bylo víc než dost při požárech a během místních demonstrací. Místní volby přebraly veškerou pozornost obyvatel a to, co se stalo s lesem, bylo trochu upozaděno. Doufám, že dokument na kterém pracuji přispěje k tomu, aby se na téma nezapomnělo.
Dobrá zpráva je, že les se obnovuje velmi rychle, když procházíte zemí, nevěřili byste, že tam hořelo. Ovšem aby se les vzpamatoval úplně zabere desítky les, a některé rostlinné (a dost možná i živočišné) druhy byly zřejmě nenávratně ztraceny.
Točil jsem, co to dalo, dokud jsem nezaplnil i to poslední místo na disku, a teď je na čase si trochu odpočinout, takže se vydávám po řece do města Manaus, a tam se rozhodnu, jestli pojedu dál do Kolumbie nebo se vrátím na západ do Peru. A až si trochu vyčistím hlavu, vrátím se zpátky do Čech, abych to všechno sestříhal.
Budu samozřejmě vděčný za Vaši další podporu. Máme vybráno skoro půlku, ale je potřeba ještě zabrat. Příspěvek dostanu, jen pokud se vybere celá částka a bude ho na dokončení střihu a pokrytí nákladů potřeba. Zkusím pro Vás po cestě najít ještě nějaké zajímavé odměny. Co takhle místní přírodní afrodiziaka? Prodávají tu Viagru v dvoulitrové petce! ;-)
