How it all started

"Brno - Brno šije!"

We said and we established a sewing workshop in the city center on the sixth floor of the building on Moravian Square.

What is our goal?

"We want everyone who is interested in sewing and work with fabrics and textile materials had the opportunity to try it. A lot of people had no sewing machine at home or hesitate because of the acquisition cost and current sewing courses are expensive and they are few."

Those ho are interested may at any time to go to the workshop and take the advice of you how to sew. For a fee of fifty crowns per hour will be available for six sewing machines, overlock and coverlock, iron and other necessities needed for sewing, but also books, magazines and patterns. And "there is always someone experienced who can help."

We are a creative space in the city center, a place for inspiration, your projects, small room for textile handicraft parties or English conversation when creating collages or just corner to scroll through fashion magazines and sipping coffee ... but above all we are shared a sewing workshop where you can rent at an affordable price 50 crowns per hour place with the sewing machine and work on your own project with our supervision, at your disposal black and white threads. We have 6 sewing places. The workshop will be equipped with: 6x 920th Janome sewing machine, Overlock Bernina 700D, Coverlock Janome Cover Pro 1000 CPX. We offer expert advices, but if you need more than the supervision, also the whole class. We like to recycle, and our philosophy is Slow Fashion. We represent the values that endure. The space is open to your ideas. A particularly interesting will be thematic workhop weekends and even sewing parties and tailor-made courses. We can also teach in English or Italian if you need. Shared sewing workshops are a phenomenon that are spreadin throughout the world. Now also Brno can sew, Brno šije!

What we will use the money for?

We will use the money to finish equipping our workshop wit the machines and other important things. Therefore money will be used to purchase additional 920 Janome sewing machine, Bernina Overlock 700D, COVERLOCK Janome Cover Pro 1000 CPX, promotional materials, as well as haberdashery: diagonal stripes, zippers, thread overlock and coverlocks, buttons, fabrics, dressmaker's dummy..

Who we are?

We are in two, Svetlana and Beata, and in addition to a number of friends we have in common a few other things. Art education from the same university, creative projects and especially the passion for everything from textile fibers - the materials, the clothes, the accessories...

Why are we doing this?

Because people are slowly returning and get interested to the skills to sew themselves for example simple clothes, and we want to encourage them that they will be able to come directly take advise from the street. And we are tired of big fashion chains!
